We’re talking about none other than Cheese and Nougat spread. A delicious recipe that is sure to keep your children wanting more. The main trick here is to not tell them what it’s actually made of otherwise they might refrain from eating it in the future.
If you’re not familiar with cheese and nougat spread, then you’re in for a real treat. It’s a simple, yet very delicious spread combo that’s spiced with minced garlic. You can choose any sort of bread you fancy, though we found that this works very well with a baguette, preferably a wide one.
Well, “what’s so special about it?” you might ask. It’s a wonderful combination of baked bread and a tough cheese spread. It has a satisfying crunchy texture along with a bit of a sour note which makes for an interesting taste. It’s simply irresistible.
And now, without further ado, let us tell you about the ingredients you’ll need.
For the ingredients, here’s what you’ll need
- 300 grams of soft sour cheese
- 20 grams of Hazelnuts
- 20 grams of Walnuts
- Two cloves of garlic
- One tablespoon of Basil
- Half a tablespoon of hot cayenne pepper
- Half a tablespoon of salt (you do need your Salt and Pepper Grinder Set)
Once you have all of the aforementioned ingredients, here’s how you prepare the cheese and nougat spread:
Preparing the Recipe
First of all, put all the nuts in a pan and fry them on medium heat for about 10 minutes. You’ll need them to be crunchy and tasty at the same time. After you’ve got them all readied up, you’re going to grind them.
Then you’re going to cut the garlic into tiny pieces and combine it with basil.
After that, put the cheese into the bowl, along with the rest of the ingredients you’ve just mixed and mix them all together. Make sure you mix them well. When you’re done mixing, leave it to cool off on the Cooling Rack for a bit.
When it comes for the kind of bread to use, you can use any type you want. We’ve tried using baguettes, and it has worked very well in combination with this recipe. However, it isn’t the only option you have. You can even use this spread as a dip for smaller snacks if you so desire. Just keep your Bread Box, Bread Cloche, Bread Knife, and Bread Slicer nearby, and you’ll be good to go.
